PRACTICAL BUYING NOTES

A useful first request

A simple outline you can fill in.

You do not need a complete purchasing specification to start. A product link, photo or short description gives Rick something concrete to work from. Add the details you know and leave the rest open.

A short request is enough.

Use this outline for one item or repeat it for each product on a buying list. If you already have a list, send the file instead.

Separate the essentials from the preferences.

Must match

The details the product has to meet: dimensions, material, function, finish or packaging. For a replacement part, include the make, model and how it fits.

Flexible

Details you can change, such as color or packaging. This helps Rick consider options without treating every preference as a fixed requirement.

Still unknown

Say what you do not know. A missing measurement or material description should remain a question, rather than become a guess in the quote.

Make photos useful.

  • Show the whole item and any label, model number or markings.
  • For a fitted part, show it in place as well as from different sides.
  • Add measurements where size matters; state whether they are inches or millimeters.
Already have a price?

You can include it for comparison. Say what quantity it covers and whether delivery is included. A current price is optional.
